Small Wind Energy System Ordinances:
From Wiki
Existing Efforts
There is a growing demand for renewable energy, including small scale wind turbines. Small scale wind turbines are typically defined as turbines rated under 100 kilowatts and they are primarily used to offset the electric consumption of a residence or small business.
In 2008 the New Hampshire legislature passed HB310, creating a framework for municipalities to regulate the construction of small-scale wind turbines. In compliance with HB310, the Office of Energy and Planning developed a technical bulletin on Small Wind Energy Systems. The bulletin presents a summary of HB310 and includes a model ordinance to aid communities in drafting regulations that conform with state laws. For more information on Small Wind Energy Systems or to view the technical bulletin, please visit the Office of Energy and Planning's website.
