Following a year-long effort, which drew upon the efforts of the 29-member Climate Change Policy Task Force, a 125-member stakeholder process, and hundreds of public comments, the NH Climate Action Plan was released at a press event with Governor John Lynch on Wednesday, March 25th at the State House.

The Action Plan contains 67 recommendations that lay out a plan for all of New Hampshire to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from each sector of the economy while promoting the state's economic development and preservation of New Hampshire's high quality of life.

Also announced at the press event was te formation of the New Hampshire Energy and Climate Collaborative is a public/private partnership that formed to ensure that implementation of the NH Climate Action Plan occurs at multiple levels across all sectors of society, and in an ongoing fashion. Effectively, the Collaborative will be "the keeper of the Plan" and will work to ensure that the Action Plan is implemented with a high degree of coordination and integration, as well as flexibility, accountability, transparency, communication, and ongoing assessment and reporting.

Development Documents

The following documents contain the summaries for the Actions that have been developed by the technical and policy working groups, which have been engaged in the New Hampshire Climate Change Action Plan. The full Actions Reports for each measure have been submitted to the NH Climate Change Policy Task Force for its consideration and may be included in the final Action Plan. However, the Task Force has not yet made any determination regarding which Actions should be included and additional Actions may be developed at their request.

The attached summary documents are intended for discussion purposes only and were created to solicit feedback regarding the developed Actions, as well as any other potential opportunities in New Hampshire to address climate change. The input provided by LEC members and other New Hampshire residents will be submitted to the Task Force members to aid in their deliberations, which will continue through the fall.
